| Metalix was first established in the 1950's producing metal houseware products and has continued to do so up to today. Originally in Pinetown the factory was set up in Isithebe when the industrial area was formed to provide employment in the more rural areas of South Africa. Metalix has always sourced as many raw materials as possible in South Africa and only imports where the products required are not available in the country. The company actively supports the principal of employment equity and the current demographics of employees are 2% White, 9% Indian and 89% Black. The early 1980's saw a change of focus for Metalix, with the launch of a domestic bakeware range of products. This business has shown substantial growth and Metalix is now a major supplier of bakeware and other kitchen & household products to the South African market. Metalix keeps pace with international technology and trends. This ultimately benefits the local market as the company distributes an extensive range of high quality bakeware products in a variety of shapes, finishes and package designs. |
In line with the company's commitment to meeting the needs of the consumer, a full range of braais and accessories has recently been launched. We are constantly investigating ways to increase our value as a supplier and with our innovative and flexible approach, we believe we will remain a major player in the housewares and outdoor sectors of the market. ![]() ![]() |
